  1. If I only had thirty minutes to pack a mid-size suitcase and leave my house, I would pack the following. I would bring my cat. My cat is like family to me. It would be like leaving behind a sibling. I would also bring a small turtle figurine that was my great-grandmother's. It holds a really sentimental value to me and I don't think I could leave it behind. I would bring money. That way in the future I am financially secure. I would also bring a notebook, pen. pencil, and my paints. It would keep me from boring. The hardest thing to leave behind would probably be the piano. I love to play piano, and it would kill me to not be able to play. And obviously, a piano would not fit inside a suitcase. Unfortunately.

  2. If I only had 30 minutes to pack a suitcase of my most important belongings, I would bring warm clothes for the cold months ahead. But that is just being practical. I agree with Rachel, in that I would bring money to keep my family and myself supported, even though the money may not last very long. As much as I would love to bring my dog and other pets, it is not very practical, because I would not be able to feed and care for them with the limited resources I can bring. I would also bring my gold locket that my Grandparents gave me when I was little. In addition, I would bring any pictures of my grandparents that I have to remember them. Also, like Rachel I would bring books, a notebook, a pen, and a pencil to entertain myself. The final thing that I would bring would be a little stuffed sheep that I have had since I was a baby. I used to take that sheep everywhere with me, and it is very sentimental and would remind me of my life before I went into hiding or wherever I would hypothetically be going.

  3. If I had to bring a couple of items in a medium size suitcase, & leave my house forever, I would bring my laptop. I would bring my laptop because that has my life on their. Such as photos of me and my friends and emails, from my grammy. I would also bring my statue of the hail Mary, because it was my grandmothers and she died when I was only 4. She was one of the most important people in my life and I miss her so much. Every time I look at that statue, i think of her. I would bring my wriiting kit, which has all my things to write letters with. I would bring money, for any purpose I would need it, & the last thing I would bring is my north face, if their was every a situation that I was getting really sick nor die, I would put that one to keep me warm, I wear that all winter long.

  4. If I only had thirty minutes to pack a medium size suitcase I would bring at least two pairs of clothing. As Anna and Rachel said some money that would sustain my family and me enough to find any shelter. I would also bring my grandfathers ring and necklace that he wore before he died. I would, also bring a baseball because it will remind me about how much i had fun playing sports before I would have to leave. The last thing I would bring is a flashlight and some extra batteries so we can see during the night just in case.

  5. If I only had thirty minutes to pack a medium size suitcase I would bring some essentials things. The first thing that would pack would be two pairs of clothes. I would also pack some change. I would also pack my laptop and a charger. I would pack this because I could contact the outside world and in the right situation, tell them on the oncoming danger. Also with my computer I could transfer money from my bank account to my PayPal so then I could purchase things online and then have them be shipped to where I was staying or somewhere that I was going. I would also bring a flashlight for dark situations. I agree with Christen because it seems like he is packing the essentials. Something that I don't agree with, is him bringing something like, in this case, his grandfather's ring. These could be sold as money but it does not seem like it would be something that he could let go of. Something that I would miss would be my cats and my dogs, because it would take too long to round them all up. Other than that I wouldn't miss much.

  6. If I had only thirty minutes to pack a suitcase and leave my house, I would put two changes of clothes and as much money as I could fit in it. Then I could buy everything I need on the trip. This is a lot more efficient than packing essential items because money is less space-consuming, and the money essentially is all the items you'll need. When you have the money to buy items, there are no limits to your recourses. The one downside to this scheme, however, is that if somebody steals your bag you're pretty much screwed. As a solution, I would put a tracking device in the bag and keep the receiver in my pocket at all times. This way, if I lose my bag I could track it down and save myself.
Unfortunately, when you only keep money with you, you won't be able to keep your sentimental belongings. Nevertheless, chances are if you're on the run, you'll have to get used to this anyways.

Gwen, I think when you said hail Mary in your post, you actually meant your statue of Mary, mother of Jesus. Hail Mary is a football play :)

  7. If I only had 30 minutes to pack a small suitcase and leave my house, I would pack a journal, my iPod, tic tacs, a sweatshirt, and my old stuffed bear. First, I would bring a journal, because I could document what happens to me, and it's also a good stress reliever. I would also bring my iPod, because personally, i can't live without it. I would bring tic tacs because I love them. They are 'addicting' as you could say (: Sweatshirts are something I need almost everyday. I get cold at random times, so having a sweatshirt is probably smart. Last, I would pack my old stuffed bear. I have had this bear for the longest time, and it has so much value to me.

  8. If i had 30 min to pack my most important belongings i would pack my clothes, my pillow, and my red sox blanket. Also i would pack as much money as i could for the trip so if i needed more food or water i could by it instead of packing it. I would bring my clothes so I could stay warm. I would also bring my pillow and blanket so i would have comfy stuff for bed. I would also bring my 4 cats and 2 dogs so i could have company. That is what i would bring if i had to pack in 30 min.

  9. Gwen i agree a Hail Mary is a deep pass in football when your down by more than 3 points in the game with little time left to try to win the game.

  10. I agree with your post Anna. Those things are very practical, and good things to have with you, especially the clothes and money. I like that you said you would bring your sheep also. It's a great thing to bring with you because of the value and meaning to you.

  11. If I had thirty minutes to pack my bag and then leave my house forever, I would pack my fly rod/flies, a couple pictures, cash, gauze, a rain coat, a warm jacket, one pair of pants, one pair of shorts, beef jerky, my coin from my dad, my mini statue from my mom, and a biggish knife, (yes I can fit this into a small suitcase, I checked). I would pack my fly rod and flies in order to catch food. I would also pack the cloths I listed for the weather they correspond with. Beef jerky would also be found in my bag for food emergencies (and it is awesome), along with the knife for filleting fish and other necessary needs. I would pack both the coin and the statue because they are special to me along with the pictures of people.

  12. Sophie, Gwen, and anybody else in the future that adds it, bringing a notebook and pens is a good idea, I agree; Pretend I said it too in my paragraph.

  13. If I only had thirty minutes to pack a suitecase and leave my house, I would pack clothes, my Ipod, beef jerky, a sketch book, an All Time Low CD, and a few pictures of me and my family. I need multiple pairs of clothes so I wouldn't smell. I would bring m Ipod because I love music and would go crazy without it. I would bring beef jerky because it is delicious. I would bring a sketch book to draw in to pass the time when I get bored of my Ipod. I already have my Ipod on the list, but I like having a hard copy of my favorite music. I would need to bring pictures of me and my family so I could always have my family with me.

  15. If I had thirty minutes to pack up as much as I could in a suitcase to leave my house forever I would bring canned and packeged foods, bandaids, a jacket, one different outfit, a toothbrush, a bar of soap, and other hygine products that are needed. I would most importantly bring all the money I have, and something to remember groton or even my house by. For entertainment I would bring my ipod, phone, and a notepad plus pencil. I would bring all of these items to make the HELL a little less miserable. The hardest item to leave behind would probably be my bed because I use it everyday and is special to me.

  16. If I had thirty mintutes to pack a small suitcase I would pack a notebook and a pencil, my camera, some pictures of my family, my iPod,my phone, food, toothbrush and toothpaste, a book or two, one pair of clothes, soap, a sweatshirt,a blanket, and a stuffed animal. I would take a notebook and a pencil because I would want to document my experience. I would take my camera because I like to take pictures and it would help with documenting what happened. I would want my iPod and books for entertainment. I would take food and water because you need those things to survive. I would take the sweatshirt and blanket to stay warm and the stuffed animal and pictures of my family for comfort. I would take clothes, a toothbrush and toothpaste, and soap because good hygiene is important and I wouldn't want to get sick. The hardest item to leave behind would be either my cat or my house.

I agree that having a flashlight would be a smart thing to bring.

  19. I agree with Rachel and Anna. I would love to take my cat Casey along with me, but it just wouldn't be practical. Although he probably wouldn't be bothered by it. He'd just sleep through the whole thing.

  20. If I had thirty minutes to pack a small suitcase, I would take only the essentials. For example, toothbrush, toothpaste, shaving kit, comb, meds, clothes, phone (if you have one), a knife/survival kit, tic-tacs, other food, money (cash), and foreign money, because you never know were you're going. I took what I took, because whatever situation you are in, you g\have to be prepared. For example, the phone for most people is a very very essential item. For me it would be the hardest to leave behind. People today can't live without their phones. Whether it's texting or on a smart phone, blogging people always have it. However, another essential item would be a knife because a knife will always help you in one way or another.

  21. Anna and Kathy-
Though it pains me to say it, I agree that it would not be practical to bring Garfy-Goober (as my sister calls him). It would be hard though. Incredibly hard. :'(. Anyways, he probably wouldn't fit in a suitcase... right? *sneaks peek at cat, who has his head stuck in a McDonald's bag* Definitely not practical.

    Jack-
Come to think of it, with my past record, band-aids would be a VERY practical idea.

    Coby-
    Bacon. Need I say more?
